PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for performing a simple and fast replacement work for a seal ring and equipment using this method.SOLUTION: A method of this invention comprises the steps of preparing a new seal ring 30 having a cutting part in at least one location, widening the cutting part and covering the seal ring over a shaft 18; covering a seal ring pushing member 40 having a pressing part 47 over the seal ring 30 to cause the pressing part 47 to be contacted with the seal ring 30; pushing the seal ring 30 to a prescribed position together with the seal ring pushing member 40; removing the seal ring pushing member 40; connecting the cutting surfaces of the cutting part of the seal ring 30; and tightening the seal ring 30 with a tightening member 35 of the seal ring 30.
