PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete update of firmware in a reservation time.SOLUTION: A distribution system registers a distribution schedule when distributing firmware to an image forming apparatus; acquires a distribution assumption time that is assumed to be required to distribute the firmware to the image forming apparatus, on the basis of the size of the firmware and network environmental information; determines whether or not a difference between a distribution time actually required to distribute the firmware and the distribution assumption time is within a threshold; responds, when determining that the difference is within the threshold, with the registered distribution schedule to a distribution information request from the image forming apparatus, and responds with the information on the firmware to a distribution request of the firmware; and when determining that the difference is not within the threshold, responds with re-scheduled distribution schedule and instructions to cause the image forming apparatus to perform periodical inquiries of the distribution schedule, on the basis of the distribution time actually required to distribute the firmware. |
