PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide highly safe horticultural materials that enable effective utilization of iron even in unhealthy soils and that do not allow excessive accumulation of iron in soils, and a technology related to their utilization.SOLUTION: The iron utilization ability of plants will be improved, and the expression of the genes relating to iron utilization of plants will be enhanced by applying an improvement agent for the iron-utilization ability of plants to plants cultured in calcareous alkali soils. The improvement agent contains amino acids composed of glutamic acid and/or arginine, and the concentration of at least one of the above amino acids is 6 mM or above when utilized, and the concentration of the content of other kinds of amino acids, except for glutamic acid and arginine, is 10 mM or below when utilized. |
