A kit for colouring hair, comprising: (i) an aqueous shampoo composition comprising a) a cleansing surfactant; b) a cellulose ether c) a polyphenol; and ii) a second aqueous second composition comprising a cationic surfactant and at least 0.01 wt% of a metal ion selected from an Fe(ll) or Fe(lll) ion or mixtures thereof in the form of a salt and/or complex.
