The present invention provides a waste treatment apparatus. The waste treatment apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the following: a waste storage unit for storing organic waste; a drying unit for transferring and drying parts of the organic waste; an incineration unit for incinerating the organic waste dried in the drying unit; a decomposition unit for decomposing organic matters contained in the organic waste using microorganisms to generate by-product gas; a gas storage unit for storing the by-product gas generated from the decomposition unit; and a fuel battery unit for generating electricity by receiving the by-product gas from the gas storage unit, and supplying heat generated during the electricity generation to the drying unit.
