PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicon substrate for a solar cell in which combination of carriers and current leakage can be suppressed on the interface of a silicon substrate precursor, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: The silicon substrate for a solar cell has a planar silicon substrate precursor 101, and an aluminum oxide film 102 covering the side face 101c and two principal surfaces 101a, 101b of the silicon substrate precursor 101. The silicon substrate precursor 101 is composed of p-type silicon, and at least one of two principal surfaces 101a, 101b of the silicon substrate precursor 101 is shaped to have a texture. |
