PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp having an extremely long lighting life, by suppressing the consumption rate of an emitter which is consumed as the lighting time elapses.SOLUTION: In a fluorescent lamp provided with a phosphor layer on the inner surface of a glass bulb, filled with mercury or a mercury compound and a rare gas, and including an electrode where a tungsten coil filament holding an emitter, i.e., an electron emitting substance, at both ends of the glass bulb is supported by an inner lead wire, a metal or an alloy is used in the inner lead wire, and the electrode structure uses an inner lead wire satisfying a relation 80<&kgr;<450, where &kgr;(W mK) is the thermal conductivity of the inner lead wire. |
