A work machine comprises a variable-capacity pump (2), an actuator (5) driven by oil discharged by the pump (2), an open-center actuator flow rate control valve (4) for controlling the rate at which hydraulic oil flows to the actuator (5), a bleed-off pipe (8a) for connecting the actuator flow rate control valve (4) to a tank (6), a bleed-off flow rate control valve (8) disposed in the bleed-off pipe (8a), an operating device (3) for directing the operation of the actuator (5), a bleed-off controller (14) for controlling the opening degree of the bleed-off flow rate control valve (8) in accordance with the manipulated variable of the operating device (3), and a pump controller (15) for controlling the pump flow rate by correcting a reference pump flow rate, which corresponds to the manipulated variable of the operating device (3), in accordance with the opening degree of the bleed-off flow rate control valve (8). Provided thereby is a work machine capable of conserving energy while suppressing the incidence of any adverse sensation related to operation. |
