The invention executes transmission logic when an engine clutch is determined to be establishing a completely direct connection after checking the direct connection state of the engine clutch while or before changing the speed when setting the power-on downshift transmission in response to a driver′s acceleration request while the vehicle is operating in an EV running mode with a motor as the only driving force to fundamentally eliminate the transmission shock caused by executing the transmission while the engine clutch is in a direct connection for increasing the fuel economy and the transmission quality while ensuring the safety of the vehicle.
