<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical sheath which allows an insertion like a catheter to be smoothly inserted therein, which surely prevents blood or the like from going in and out, and which is easily tearable. <P>SOLUTION: The medical sheath 10 includes a sheath body 11 and a holding part 15, wherein the sheath body 11 is tearable along the axial direction by tearing up the holding part 15 in a prescribed tearing direction. The holding part 15 includes a base part 20, a lid 30 and a valve element 40 which is held between the base part and the lid. The valve element 40 has a first valve element 41 and a second valve element 42, wherein the first valve element 41 has a first slit S1 formed therein and the second valve element 42 has a hole 48 and a second slit S2 connected to the hole formed therein. The second slit S2 is arranged along the tearing direction of the holding part 15 while the first slit S1 is arranged orthogonally thereto.
