<p><PICT:0980428/C6-C7/1> A sintered iron bar is produced from iron powder formed by the continuous hydrogen reduction of iron ore in a reaction chamber 15 at 600-750 DEG C., the iron powder being discharged into a heated extrusion chamber 1 where extrusion takes place at 600-750 DEG C.
