The product has plant origin fibers e.g. wood or hemp fibers, and nodules or mineral wool flakes comprising mineral fibers. A flexible resin coats the plant origin fibers and the nodules or mineral wool flakes. The plant origin fibers and the nodules or mineral wool flakes are attached to each other by the flexible resin, where the resin is starch based resin or formophenolic and starch resin or acrylic resin. The nodules or mineral wool flakes are made of glass wool with a micronaire preferably lower than 10 L/min ranging between 3 and 7 L/min. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming an insulating product.
