An interactive toy comprises a unique identifier tag (which may be an active tag with filtering and processing electronics); and electrical circuitry with an identifier tag sensor, and an interface for the toy to communicate with a computer system (e.g. wireless or hardwired). The circuit may include a processor; non-volatile memory; and an antenna enabling the toy to send and receive radio frequency (RF) data, and which may be connected to an active electronic tag. The circuit may alternate between modes of identifier generation, and reading/storing identifiers, which may then be transferred to a computer. The toy may include a power source, rechargeable through the connection to a computer system. The figural toy may be an electronically designed figure from a user-defined avatar in a virtual world. The intent is that toys are able to record physical (real-world) meetings for use in the corresponding virtual on-line world. |
