PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the linearity of a metal wire and improve the polarizing performance. SOLUTION: This wire grid polarizing plate is equipped with: a base material having a grid-like uneven shape extending in a specific direction; and a metal wire erecting on a base material wall surface of one side of a projecting part of the grid-like uneven shape. An azimuth (111) in a cubic structure of metal constituting the metal wire has two-six directions of alignment to the azimuth (111) in the range of 80°to 90°from the vertical direction of the base material surface.
