The light-emitting diode has at least one light-emitting diode die (3) attached to the surface of a light-emitting diode printed circuit board (6) via an adhesive (4), the opposite side of the printed circuit board provided with electrical rearside contacts (7) which cover at least half of the overall surface area of the printed circuit board. An independent claim for a light-emitting diode light source is also included.
