1,016,064. Regulating switches. BROWN, BOVERI & CO. Ltd. April 17, 1963 [April 19, 1962], No. 15158/63. Heading H2B. A tap-changing switch comprises a Genevatype drive to tap selectors coupled with a planetary gear and crank drive to an associated diverter switch in order to facilitate correct relative positioning from a common drive. Shaft 31, coupled at 30 to unspecified external drive means, is geared to a shaft 35 which drives a plant wheel 37 having a crank pin 41 arranged so as to describe a hypocycloidal path 42. Pin 41 is coupled by rod 52 to a diverter switch 55. The planet wheel shaft 40 engages in a hole in a driving disc 40 which is coupled by means of a slot 44 to a rod 45 rigid with discs 46 and 47 co-operating with two roller pairs 50, 51 on shafts 48 and 49 respectively geared to tap selector bridging contact arms 14 and 15 via gears 28, 26, 24, 22 and 29, 27, 25, 23. The disc 46 engages upper rollers 50 and 51 to prevent shafts 48 and 49 from turning except when lugs on disc 47 drive the lower rollers 50 and 51. Arms 14 and 15 respectively engage top contacts shown diagrammatically at 2, 4 ... 12 and 1, 3 ... 11. A further Geneva-type mechanism 59, 60, 66, 67 drives a coarse selector contact arm 11b. Two alternative ways of connecting the switches are described (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown). |
