A catalyst for the destruction of a sterilant comprises silver oxide and calcium carbonate. The catalyst may contain at least 50wt% of silver oxide and at least 5 wt% of calcium carbonate. The catalyst may be supported on a substrate, which may be a honeycomb substrate. The catalyst may further comprise titanium dioxide, manganese dioxide or xanthan gum. A method for the manufacture of the catalyst, as well as its use is also disclosed. |
