[Also in Division B3] A device having a groove in which a trip-cam may be secured, comprises separate strips 1-4, Fig. 2, the feet 5 of which are wider than the heads 6 and are in contact with each other. The strips may be secured to a movable part of a machine, and, as shown, provide four grooves for trip-cams used for automatic control of the machine. A tripcam for clamping in the grooves 115, Fig. 7, may comprise a head 102 of synthetic resin carrying a pin 157 which is supported on a pivot 158 in the cambase 101. The base is clamped in the groove by a lever 113 wider for at least part of its length than the narrowest part of the groove and pivoted on a tongue 150 attached to one end of the base. Passing through the other end of the base is a clamping screw 120 engaging screwthreads in the lever. Fine adjustment of the cam-head 102 relatively to the clamped base is by a screw 131 which turns the head about the pivot 158, against the influence of a spring 137. The cam of Figs. 10 and 11 can be inserted through the narrow part of the groove-opening, a member 123 being turned through 90 degrees to engage its shoulders 121<SP>1</SP>, 122<SP>1</SP>, beneath the grooveflanges 110<SP>1</SP>, 111<SP>1</SP>. The member is supported on the clamping lever 113<SP>1</SP> which is pivoted at one end on a hook 116 and at the other engaged by the screw 120<SP>1</SP> operating to clamp the shoulders 121<SP>1</SP>, 122<SP>1</SP> against the flanges. Pins 106, 107 secure the cam-head 102<SP>1</SP> non-adjustably in a channel in the base 101<SP>1</SP>. In a modification of this construction, Figs. 15 and 16, the head 102<SP>1</SP> is adjustable in the base 101<SP>1</SP> against the pressure of a spring 137<SP>1</SP>, by a lever 133<SP>1</SP> operated by a screw 131<SP>1</SP>. A helical or a cup spring 140 in an opening in the head 102<SP>1</SP> biases the head against the bottom of the groove in the base 101<SP>1</SP>. Instead of using a lever 133<SP>1</SP>, the screw may act directly on the head 102<SP>1</SP>. In a further construction, Fig. 18, having an inset identification plate 223, the screwthreaded bore 218 in the clamping member 213 is arranged vertically beneath the cam-head 208. The member 213 engages a surface 222 on the cam-base as it clamps against the undersides 203, 204 of the groove flanges.
