[class 141] [Also in Group XV] In a garment press, the two press plates 1, 1a, are clamped upon the garment by a number of levers 10 each pivoted at 14 to the plate 1a, and at 11 to a stud 3 carried by the plate 1, the plate 1a sliding on the free ends of the studs. Springs 2 on the studs bear directly on the plates. The free ends 19 of the levers 10 bear against a single cam member 22 pivoted at 15 to a pivoted hand lever 7 by which the cam member is reciprocated. Each stud. 3 is screwed into a nut 4 carried by the plate 1, so that the initial distance between the plates can be adjusted by rotating the nut.</p> |
