A process for preparing an alkylated hydroxyl aromatic compound comprising reacting (a) a hydroxyl aromatic compound (I), having the following structure; wherein n 1, 2 or 3; m is 0, 1, 2, or 3 and R1 is Hydrogen or hydrocarbyl group; and (b) at least oneβ-branched primary alcohol component in the presence of an alkylating catalyst thereby producing an alkylated hydroxyl aromatic compound. |
