PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a NbSn superconducting wire rod capable of providing an enough Ti amount for NbSn phase, which is increased by using a dispersion Sn method, and capable of exhibiting good superconducting characteristics even in a high magnetic field region without causing breaking of wire during the processing, and to provide a precursor therefor.SOLUTION: The precursor for manufacturing a NbSn superconducting wire has a cylindrical diffusion barrier layer having a stabilization copper layer in its outer periphery, and is obtained by wiring a composite tube manufactured by inserting wires into the cylindrical diffusion barrier layer, and the wires contains an Sn core wire manufactured by embedding an Sn or Sn-based alloy core in a Cu or Cu-based alloy matrix and an Nb multicore wire manufactured by embedding a plurality of linear Nb materials in the Cu or Cu-based alloy matrix, and the linear Nb material has an intermediate layer made of a Ti or Ti-based alloy on an outer periphery of the Nb core made of an Nb or Nb-based alloy and an outer peripheral layer made of the Nb or Nb-based alloy arranged further around it. |
