PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a decay heat removal system and thus attain an improvement in safety of a fast breeder reactor type nuclear power generation system, even at the time of station blackout, by improving heat removal performance of an air cooler installed together in a cooling system applicable to a reactor and an intermediate heat exchanger that are a coolant housing container.SOLUTION: A decay heat removal system according to the present invention includes: a coolant housing container which houses a core coolant in the inside thereof, and in which an upward air flow passage is formed for guiding outside air introduced to the exterior thereof and heating it with a wall surface; a heat transfer-tube coil immersed in the core coolant inside the coolant housing container; an air cooler which forms a circulation path of the core coolant between the heat transfer-tube coil and itself and cools the core coolant by air; and a blower for supplying the air cooler with the air. In the upward air flow passage, an outlet thereof is opened to the atmosphere and also a portion thereof is connected to an air flow path of the blower. |
