PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric booster which reduces lateral force acting on a piston of a master cylinder for transmitting brake fluid pressure of the master cylinder to a brake pedal.SOLUTION: An electric motor is controlled according to the operation of a brake pedal connected to an input rod 21, and a ball screw mechanism 34 is driven through a transmission mechanism 53 to propel a primary piston 72 and a sub-piston 92, thereby generating brake fluid pressure in a master cylinder 2. The brake fluid pressure of the master cylinder 2 is received by an input piston 93 and transmitted to the brake pedal through a plunger rod 90 and the input rod 21. The input rod 21 and the plunger rod 90 are connected to each other with a gradient allowed by a ball joint 39, and the plunger rod 90 is guided to slide along the axial direction by a guide part 110a of a rear cover 110. Thus, the lateral force acting on the primary piston 72 or the sub-piston 92 is reduced to prevent increase in sliding resistance and decrease in sealability. |
