PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to set fixing temperature appropriately depending on the type of a sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet type determination circuit 32 of a fuser includes: a second power measuring unit 34 that measures power supplied to an excitation coil in a predetermined period before printing as pre-printing supply power; a first power measuring unit 33 that measures the average value of power per sheet supplied to the excitation coil in a period during which a predetermined number of sheets pass the fuser as average supply power; and &Dgr;W calculation unit 38 that calculates a difference between the average supply power and pre-printing supply power. The sheet type determination circuit 32 determines the type of a sheet on the basis of &Dgr;W calculated by the &Dgr;W calculation unit 38. |
