PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for in vitro subculture of adherent cells that can effectively prevent cell death due to the protease treatment to peel off the adherent cells from the culture vessel and following cell treatment, and to provide a kit for in vitro subculture of adherent cells including the rinsing solution.SOLUTION: A cell rinsing solution is prepared by adding trehalose or a derivative thereof, or a salt thereof as an effective component to a physiological aqueous solution. When adherent cells are washed with such a rinsing solution before the cells are peeled off from the culture vessel by protease treatment, cell death such as apoptosis due to the protease treatment can be suppressed or inhibited. The trehalose concentration in the rinsing solution may be any as long as the cell death is suppressed or inhibited, usually 0.1-20 (w/v)%, preferably 1-15 (w/v)%, more preferably 1.0-7.0 (w/v)%, further preferably 3-5.0 (w/v)%. |
