PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, which has critical pressure on the high pressure side, capable of appropriately and easily maintaining and managing circulation cooling medium volume in a cooling medium circuit irrespective of a scale and a season and capable of preventing an overload operation of compression means caused by high pressure abnormality.SOLUTION: In a refrigerator R, a cooling medium circuit 1 is configured by a compressor 11, a gas cooler 46, main throttle means 62 and an evaporator 63, and it has supercritical pressure on the high pressure side. The refrigerator R includes: an added cooling medium volume adjusting tank 116 which can be connected to the cooling medium circuit; and a control device which controls recovery and discharge of the cooling medium to the added cooling medium volume adjusting tank which is connected to the cooling medium circuit. The control device executes a cooling medium recovery operation for recovering the circulation cooling medium on the high pressure side of the cooling medium circuit to the added cooling medium volume adjusting tank, and executes a cooling medium discharging operation for discharging the cooling medium recovered in the added cooling medium volume adjusting tank to the low pressure side of the cooling medium circuit. |
