The present invention relates to a draft control method of an oil drilling ship capable of building an oil drilling ship using a conventional dock or a pier by increasing buoyancy applied to the oil drilling ship to lower a draft of the oil drilling ship. The draft control method of the oil drilling ship comprises: a fender coupling step where identically shaped fenders are coupled to both sides of each protrusion of a pontoon positioned at a lower part of the oil drilling ship; a draft measuring step where the draft of the oil drilling ship in which the fenders are coupled at the protrusion of the pontoon in the fender coupling step is measured; and a draft control step where the draft of the oil drilling ship is lowered by exchanging a previously coupled fender with a larger one or adding another fender to make the buoyancy higher when the measurement value of the draft of the oil drilling ship in which the fenders are coupled is more than a target draft in the draft measuring step.
