PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of improving washing performance by efficiently controlling heating of washing liquid depending on an amount and quality of soiling of the laundry.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a washing tub for rotating by accommodating the laundry; an outer tub 2 for accommodating the washing tub; a motor 4 for driving the washing tub; heating means for heating the washing liquid in the washing tub; a soiling sensor 17 for detecting the amount and quality of the soiling in the washing liquid in the washing tub; and control means 16 for performing control of the washing machine. The control means 16 controls heating time or set temperature of the washing liquid by determining whether water should be heated or not with respect to the soiling dissolved into the washing liquid by controlling at least one of the heating time and the set temperature of the washing liquid according to the output from the soiling sensor 17; thereby, washing performance can be secured for various degrees of soiling. |
