PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder whose time required for image recording operation is reduced in a configuration in which a gear for transferring driving force is switched according to movement of a carriage.SOLUTION: A moving gear 76 moves from a first position to a second position while meshing with a flange gear 75. Driven gears 77 and 78 which can be engaged with the gear 76 that is in the first position and the second position respectively, are supported by a shaft 82. A moving member 91 is externally fitted onto a shaft 81 at a right side of the moving gear 76. The moving member 91 is biased toward left to keep the moving gear 76 at the first position, and moves toward right when a lever 83 is pushed by the carriage 28. A flange 80 is protruded from the flange gear 75 between the first position and the second position while having a range in which at least the flange gear 76 can pass through. |
