PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell of closed system in which hydrogen gas, oxygen gas and water can be reused without discharging to the outside at all.SOLUTION: Liquid water is housed previously in storage tanks 2 and 2', and it is utilized as water being supplied to a polymer membrane. Steam pressure of water in the storage tank is set to a predetermined value, by controlling the temperature of the storage tanks 2 and 2' individually. Pressure gauges 6 and 6' may be used for setting the steam pressure of water. On the basis of the steam pressures set in respective storage tanks, the gasified water is supplied to a stack 10 from the storage tank 2 together with oxygen, and from the storage tank 2' together with hydrogen. With such a configuration, the amount of water contained in a polymer membrane is adjusted without supplying water externally, and wet state of the polymer membrane can be maintained. |
