PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding an optical element and an optical element manufacturing method each capable, by conserving the space of a mold constitution and by enhancing the degree of cavity arrangement freedom, of increasing the cavity number and of molding a high-quality optical element without entailing damages thereof on a mold releasing occasion.SOLUTION: In the provided mold for molding an optical element, a pair of slide blocks is fitted to a mobile mold, whereas a locking block for immobilizing the slide blocks upon the engagement thereof with both on a mold-closing occasion is fixed to a stationary mold, and the slide blocks possess mold surfaces for molding profile surfaces of an optical element. On an occasion where the mobile mold has become released from the stationary mold, the slide blocks become, upon disengagement thereof from the locking block, mobile in a direction intersecting the mold release direction, and, on an occasion where the optical element is induced to protrude by a protruding member, the pair of slide blocks moves in the direction intersecting the mold release direction and away from each other, interlocking with the protruding movement of the optical element. |
