PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in the cost of manufacture, while maintaining soundness of a thermal printhead which can print on a hard medium to be printed.SOLUTION: A thermal printhead includes: a ceramic substrate 22; a glaze layer 25; a resistor layer 26; and a metal wiring layer 28. The glaze layer 25 extends continuously to a portion of an end surface 71 perpendicular to a surface 70 by enclosing the surface 70 of the ceramic substrate 22 and a ridge line 73 extending in a main scanning direction. In the resistor layer 26, heat resistors are formed arrayed at intervals in the main scanning direction on a surface of the glaze layer 25 in the vicinity of the ridge line 73. On the metal wiring layer 28, electrodes are formed connected to both ends of the heat resistors. |
