PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element having no conduction failure, and capable of uniformly holding a cap interval.SOLUTION: A display element comprises: a drive electrode substrate 10 having a conductive pad 13 and a drive electrode arranged at a predetermined interval from the conductive pad 13; a counter electrode substrate 20 having a transparent electrode 21 arranged to face the conductive pad 13 and the drive electrode; a seal material 40 including a non-conductive spacer 41 for holding an interval between the drive electrode substrate 10 and the counter electrode substrate 20, and arranged to surround a region where the drive electrode is formed for adhering the drive electrode substrate 10 to the counter electrode substrate 20; and a conductive material 30 arranged between the conductive pad 13 and the counter electrode 21 for conducting the conductive pad 13 and the transparent electrode 21. The conductive material 30 includes the conductive spacer having a non-flexible non-conductive particle 31 and a conductive coating 32 for coating the surface of the non-conductive particle. |
