PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly having no gap between a catalyst layer and a gasket member and excellent in durability.SOLUTION: Catalyst layers 2 and 3 are formed on both sides of a polymer electrolyte membrane 1, respectively. A filler is filled in spaces 21 and 22 between gasket members 13 and 14 and the catalyst layers 2 and 3 around which the gasket members 13 and 14 are arranged, respectively. The filler is formed of the same material as the catalyst layers 2 and 3, or a gas sealing material. The gasket members 13 and 14 are formed of a film. |
