PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge drive device with high durability capable of detecting a state of an identification hole formed in a cartridge.SOLUTION: A hole detection lever 66 has a protrusion 665 formed in accordance with the position of an identification hole 135 for a first shell in an insertion completion position of the cartridge 10, and the protrusion 665 is supported movable in an insertion direction with respect to the identification hole 135. The movement of the protrusion 665 in the insertion direction is restricted at the position of a second shell separated from the first shell, that is, in accordance with the hole detection control slider 454 of a second holder holding the second shell. A hole detection switch 670 detects whether the identification hole 135 is formed based on the movement amount of the protrusion 665 in the insertion direction. The hole can be detected by the protrusion 665 without sliding the same on the surface of the cartridge. |
