PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery that is safe, high in reliability, and long in life.SOLUTION: A lead-acid battery includes: an electrode group having a negative electrode and a positive electrode which are alternately laminated with a separator interposed therebetween; and a comb-shaped liquid-absorbing member comprising a liquid-absorbing mat which is folded in a bellows-like form and has a tooth part projecting from a base. The negative electrode plate has an ear part, and a plurality of the negative electrode plates are connected to a strap at the ear part to be integrated. In the liquid-absorbing member, the tooth part is inserted between the ear parts of the negative electrode plates so as to be brought into close contact with the ear parts of the negative electrode plates, the strap and the separator. |
