PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector 1 that is capable of always receiving an Ethernet signal irrespective of specifications on a transmitter side of a HDBaseT signal.SOLUTION: The projector 1 according to the present invention comprises: an HDBaseT reception circuit 12 that receives a plurality of signals capable of transmission by an HDBaseT signal; a Phy reception circuit 13 that is capable of reception of only the Ethernet signal; a MII-SW circuit 15 for switching over to either the Ethernet signal (an MII signal) received by the HDBaseT reception circuit 12 or the Ethernet signal (an MII signal) received by the Phy reception circuit 13; and a CPU 16 that processes the MII signal selected by the MII-SW circuit 15.
