PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film for reducing reflection of external light by controlling polarization planes, the optical film which does not degrade flexibility of an arrangement object.SOLUTION: A thin quarter-wave plate retardation layer 101 and a half-wave plate retardation layer 102 are to be formed. In order to form the above layers, a transfer body is configured to include: a transfer layer having the half-wave plate retardation layer 102 for imparting a retardation corresponding to a half wavelength to transmitted light, and having the quarter-wave plate retardation layer 101 directly in contact with the half-wave plate retardation layer 102 and imparting a retardation corresponding to a quarter wavelength to the transmitted light; and a support substrate 301 holding the transfer layer. The half-wave plate retardation layer 102 is constituted by a liquid crystal layer having a plurality of linear recesses and projections extending in a given direction formed on a surface thereof. The quarter-wave plate retardation layer 101 is constituted by a liquid crystal layer having a plurality of linear recesses and projections extending in a direction different from the above given direction on a surface thereof.
