PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an erroneous detection when detecting a road section where an unexpected event has occurred.SOLUTION: An unexpected event detection device 1 comprises an estimation part 31, a reference part 32, and a determination part 33. The estimation part 31 estimates the possibility that an unexpected event has occurred on each road link according to probe information produced by a vehicle running on a road. When the estimation part 31 estimates that the unexpected event has occurred on a target road link, the reference part 32 checks whether the unexpected event has occurred on a reference road link located on a downstream side of the target road link in the vehicle running direction. When the unexpected event has occurred on the reference road link as a result of the check by the reference part 32, the determination part 33 determines that the unexpected event has occurred on the reference road link, not on the target road link. |
