PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate capable of being used in a high contrast flat panel display even when having an internal defect exceeding the predetermined size and having no light transmissivity.SOLUTION: In the glass substrate for a flat panel display according to one embodiment of the present invention, a glass substrate having no light transmissivity, and having an internal defect of which a long side length exceeds 50 μm and a short side length is less than 5 μm, and a protrusion part whose height from the main surface is equal to or less than 0.15 μm at a position on the main surface of the glass substrate corresponding to the position of the internal defect is used as a flat display glass substrate. |
