PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of effectively preventing the occurrence of twisting and the occurence of lateral leakage of a liquid in its fitting state.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 includes: a liquid permeable surface layer 11; a leakage preventing layer 12; and an absorbing layer 13. The article has a longitudinal direction Y and a width direction X orthogonal thereto. The article 10 has constricted portions 15 and 16 dividing the article 10 into a front portion A, a center portion C and a rear portion B along the longitudinal direction on both right and left side edges 17 along the longitudinal direction Y. The front portion A and the rear portion B have a substantially equal maximum width, and a maximum width of the center portion C is smaller than those of the front portion A and the rear portion B. In the center portion C, leakage preventing grooves 20 having an arc shape convexed outward in the width direction are formed at inner positions in the width direction of both right and left side edges 17C in the central portion C substantially corresponding to the shapes of both right and left side edges 17C. |
