PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a rubber having high adhesion with rubber, high strength, high modulus and excellent in flexural fatigue resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a rubber including following [A] to [E] processes in this order. [A] a process of adding a first treatment liquid 4 containing resorcin formaldehyde rubber latex containing an alkali catalyst of 0 to 0.02 mass% in solid matter to a carbon fiber bundle 1 to prepare a first treatment liquid-attaching carbon fiber bundle, [B] a process of heat treating the first treatment liquid-attaching carbon fiber bundle to prepare a first treated carbon fiber bundle, [C] a process of adding twist to the first treated carbon fiber bundle to prepare a twisted first treated carbon fiber bundle, [D] a process of adding a second treatment liquid containing a rubber component and a crosslinking agent to the twisted first treated carbon fiber bundle to prepare a second treatment liquid-attaching carbon fiber bundle, and [E] a process of heat treating the second treatment liquid-attaching carbon fiber bundle with a tensile force provided to prepare a carbon fiber cord for reinforcing a rubber. |
