PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor which can read a signal for use in focus detection and a signal for use in image generation at high speed.SOLUTION: An image sensor includes a pixel array having a first pixel group where first pixels generating a plurality of first analog signals corresponding to the amount of incident light are arranged in a first direction, and a plurality of first pixel groups are arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction, scanning means for scanning the plurality of first pixel groups in the second direction in the pixel array, AD conversion means for converting the plurality of first analog signals in parallel into a plurality of first digital signals, digital addition means for adding the plurality of first digital signals, first output means for outputting the plurality of first digital signals, and second output means for outputting an addition digital signal obtained by adding the plurality of first digital signals in the digital addition means. |
