PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader which processes a substantially rectangular card conveyed in its lateral direction, configured to prevent dust or water from being accumulated in a card insertion part with a card slot.SOLUTION: In a card reader, a card insertion part 4 with a slot 3 for a card 2 comprises: a first shutter member 14 arranged at the back of the slot 3; a shutter drive mechanism for driving the first shutter member 14; a second shutter member 15 arranged closer to the slot 3 than the first shutter member 14; and a biasing member for biasing the second shutter member 15 in a closing direction for closing a conveyance path 5. The second shutter member 15 moves to an open position for opening the conveyance path 5 when coming into contact with the card 2 inserted through the slot 3. |
