PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal capable of reducing a sliding torque as compared with a case in which a fabric is used as a dust lip.SOLUTION: A slinger in this invention has a threaded groove at an end surface of a flange outside a device so as to perform a pumping action toward a diametrical outward direction. A lip seal member comprises a main lip, dust lip and intermediate lip. The dust lip is made of rubber-like resilient material, its contact part against the slinger is provided with a protrusion and this is closely contacted with the slinger through this protrusion. The protrusion is formed of an annular protrusion having a recess at a part of the peripheral portion. The middle lip is formed of rubber resilient material, its lip end is faced toward inside the device, its lip end is closely contacted with the slinger over entire periphery and further its opposite side facing against the slinger is provided with a second protrusion. The second protrusion has a structure in which it forms a minute clearance between itself and the slinger to prevent dust from passing around the lip end. |
