PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate which enables high-contrast and high-luminance display performance by suppressing effects of white haze, color shifts, and the like caused by external light, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: A color filter substrate 1 has a colored layer 3 formed on a transparent substrate 2. The colored layer 3 comprises red colored layers 3R, green colored layers 3G, blue colored layers 3B, and white colored layers 3W. A light absorption layer 5 having a transmittance of 45-95% and a light scattering functional layer 6 having a haze value of 10-70 are provided in the described order from the transparent substrate 2 side to cover at least each region with a white colored layer 3W. The light scattering functional layer 6 comprises an organic film 7 and a high refractive index film 8 laminated together, where the organic film 7 is located on the transparent substrate 2 side and the boundary between the organic film 7 and the high refractive index film 8 is a concavo-convex surface 7a. The organic film 7 has a lower refractive index than that of the high refractive index film 8. |
