PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil pump (1) for an internal combustion engine including an inner rotor (32) supported by a pump shaft (34), and driven through a driving pin (40) fitted to the pump shaft (34), an outer rotor engaged with the inner rotor and driven by the inner rotor, and a pump body (21) accommodating both rotors and defines a pump chamber (42), where it is prevented from being damaged by excess stress, and a load to a driving system for driving the oil pump is reduced when the damage occurs.SOLUTION: A pump shaft insertion hole (35) and driving pin end insertion grooves (41, 51) are formed on an inner periphery of the inner rotor, the driving pin (40) fitted to the pump shaft is provided with a guide diameter portion (45) supported by the pump shaft and an acting portion (46)for driving the inner rotor, and a step portion (49) absorbing and breaking excess stress is disposed between the guide diameter portion and the acting portion. |
