The filter (42) has a body (30) including an internal housing (35). An input orifice (33) and an output orifice (34) arranged in the body allow introduction of gas i.e. anesthesia, into the housing via the input orifice, and to allow output of internal gas of the housing via the output orifice. A filtration element (42c) is arranged in the housing, and the orifices are located on both sides of the element. The filtration element includes a ceramic porous membrane having a thickness lower or equal to 200 micrometers, and includes pores whose diameter is lower or equal to 100 Nm. An independent claim is also included for a patient ventilation installation.
