The present invention relates to a device of detecting a damaged position of a pantograph collector plate. On an electric train are provided a thermal imaging camera for thermally imaging a collector of a pantograph at one side of the pantograph, and a video camera for imaging arc on a portion where the collector plate and an electric train line are dynamically brought into contact with each other. Inside the electric train are provided a data acquisition (DAQ) unit for acquiring a speed and a travel distance of the electric train, and a controller for processing output values from the thermal imaging camera and the video camera and wirelessly transmitting the processed signal via a transmission antenna. Outside the electric train is provided a monitoring unit, which analyzes the received data from the controller to detect an abnormal heating state of the pantograph, searches for thermally non-uniform surfaces, and determines whether the collector plate is normal or not. Therefore, the heating state of the collector plate of the pantograph is monitored by the thermal imaging camera, and a continuously-heated portion is detected, such that a local damaged position is acknowledged.
