A reciprocating compressor is provided to reduce friction area between a piston and a cylinder block by forming a rubbing avoidance part at the inner circumference of the cylinder block or the outer circumference of the piston. A reciprocating compressor comprises a cylinder block, and a piston(24). The cylinder block linearly forms compression space. The piston compresses refrigerant with linearly reciprocating in the compression space of the cylinder block. The rubbing avoidance part(24b) is concavely formed at the outer circumference of the piston within the range which is 1/10 ~ 1/2 of the total length of the piston. |
